Rain Crow Ranch American Pastured Poultry chicken are pasture-grazed on pesticide-free and herbicide-free fields. They are fed a ration that has NO antibiotics, NO hormones and is NON-GMO.
The use of non-GMO grain was very important to us. It costs more but in our opinion is well worth the difference.
Raised in open hoop houses the chickens have continuous access to pasture which allows them to live a biologically and behaviorally appropriate life while protected from exposure and predators. This provides more insects for the birds to eat and a cleaner environment in which to live.
These birds are unbelievable. If you have tried pastured birds in the past and found them somewhat dry and stringy you have got to try these birds. If you have been using conventional confined chickens you absolutely must try the flavor of these birds!
Our shipping is currently handled by our processing facility and comes direct to your door via either UPS or FedEx.
We ship on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to allow the product to arrive in frozen condition and to avoid the chance of sitting over the weekend.
Currently we ship in Styrofoam coolers using dry ice. You can reuse these containers for picnics and when you need to keep food cool.
We will send you a shipping confirmation and tracking number the day the product ships so you will be advised to look for arrival.
We send the product with the signature waived to allow the delivery to be left at your door if you are not home.
Otherwise, it may ride around in the delivery truck for days

Chef John has a great video on how to BBQ chicken without burning your chicken. The recipe tips work great with our whole cut up chicken.
Chef John starts by slashing his chicken so his marinade will permeate. He marinates 1 hour
Chicken Marinade Recipe
1/4 C rice vinegar
2T BBQ Sauce
2 Cloves of Fresh Crushed Garlic
After marinating, he dries the chicken before grilling and sprinkles with dry rub.
Dry Rub Recipe
1 T Salt
1 t Black Pepper
2 t Paprika
1 t Onion Powder
1/2 t Cayenne
He grills skin side down to get bbq char marks then flips and never turns his chicken again. He brushes his chicken with BBQ sauce every few minutes to build up a nice layer of sauce.
