This tender, juicy cut of meat offers all the flavor of a leg of lamb, but in a more manageable serving size. 1 Steak per package. Depending on cut the weight ranges between 0.9 to 1 lb.
Columbia/Rambouillet ewes are bred with Suffolk or Hampshire bucks. Our resulting product is a mild, tender grass fed lamb. Our gourmet lamb appeals to those who do not care for a strong “gamey” taste while still appealing to true lamb lovers.
The entire flock free ranges on grass and alfalfa from fields in North Boulder County, as well as in Monte Vista, Colorado. They are never given steroids, fed antibiotics or growth hormones. Any supplemental alfalfa is sourced from local, non-GMO farms.
Our shipping is currently handled by our processing facility and comes direct to your door via either UPS or FedEx.
We ship on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to allow the product to arrive in frozen condition and to avoid the chance of sitting over the weekend.
Currently we ship in Styrofoam coolers using dry ice. You can reuse these containers for picnics and when you need to keep food cool.
We will send you a shipping confirmation and tracking number the day the product ships so you will be advised to look for arrival.
We send the product with the signature waived to allow the delivery to be left at your door if you are not home.
Otherwise, it may ride around in the delivery truck for days.
Recipes / Tips
Grilled Lamb Steak Recipe
- 4 bone-in lamb steaks
- 4 cloves garlic, minced/ 4 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 tablespoon Salt
- 1/2 tablespoon Pepper
Preparation and cook:
Combine garlic, rosemary, salt, pepper and olive oil in shallow dish. Place steaks in dish, coat each side and let marinate 30 minutes after covering dish. Heat grill and cook lamb until desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium- rare.
Serve and enjoy.
